General Rules/Usual Mouser Stuff

  • In the event of a tie in the final standings, 1st place finishes will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, then 2nd place finishes will be the determinant, and so on. If a tie cannot be broken this way, athletes will compete head to head in Axle Clean and Press for reps (90sec) as the tie breaker.
  • Sportsmanship is expected and required. This is the greatest sport in the world, let’s keep it that way.
  • There will be a pre-event prayer. No one is expected to participate, so please do not feel obligated. All we ask is to be respectful of those that do or do not wish to participate.
  • This is a drug free contest. If you are juiced feel free to come cheer on your buddies but please do not bother to sign up.
  • If you have a question, please ask! I would rather take a minute to clarify something than to see someone have a poor showing due to a misunderstanding.

Max Log

  • Athletes will have 30sec to make a successful lift each round. There is no limit on how many attempts can be made in those 30sec. Log is to be lifted from the ground to the overhead position while standing.
  • Each athlete may lift or pass on any given weight. Once you miss a weight, you are “out” and will be credited with your highest successful attempt. The athlete is responsible for maintaining his/her position in the rotation; failure to do so may result in disqualification from the event.
  • Athletes must wait for the “down” signal to receive credit for their lift. To receive the signal, the feet must not be staggered, must be shoulder width or narrower, and must not be moving. The elbows and knees must be locked, and the hips must be extended with the log overhead and steady.
  • In the event of a tie, the athlete that took fewer attempts to reach the weight will be credited with the higher placing.
  • Elbow sleeves & knee sleeves (buckling mechanisms and straps must not be tightened), a single belt, and wrist wraps are legal.
  • Yoke
    • Athletes will have 60 seconds to carry the yoke implement 30 feet and both front feet of the implement must break the plane of the line and be set down. Weight will not be added until this occurs and the competitor cannot continue the event until this occurs.  As soon as the competitor crosses the line, weight will immediately be added to the implement and the competitor must then repack the yoke and carry it 30 feet back.  Again, both front feet of the  implement must cross the line.
    • If the athlete is unable to complete the course, she will be credited with distance.
    • Belt and knee sleeves allowed. No compression shorts, suits, knee wraps, etc.

    Car Deadlift

    • Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible
    • Athletes must wait for the down signal after each repetition.
    • Knee sleeves, belts, and straps are allowed. No deadlift suits or compression shorts, etc.

    Atlas Stones Over Bar

    • Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible over a 48 inch bar
    • Athletes will have the option of loading a light stone which will be worth one point or a heavy stone worth FIVE points. The competitor with the most points wins the event.
    • Competitors may attempt both stones during the event.
    • No tacky allowed.

    Truck Pull

    • 60sec time limit to cover the 75ft course
    • Harness and hand rope will be used
    • Everyone will use the same harness. Please do not pester me about using your own harness. I won’t budge. In 6 years, probably a dozen contests, and countless training sessions with 110 pound ladies all the way up to 400+lb men, no one has ever “come out” of the harness in mid-pull. The only way to accomplish that would be to literally stop pulling and move backward to create slack while letting your arms hang down to the side and slumping your shoulders. If you do that, you didn’t want to win anyway.
    • Fastest time wins.
    • You may assign your own “rope handler” if you wish, if not, one will be provided for you
