Combo Truck/Boat Pull

  • 75sec time limit to cover the course
  • In a nutshell, you’ll pull one thing in one fashion, then pull the other thing in another fashion
  • Athlete will begin with a harness-and-rope style truck pull. Once they finish that portion (~40ft), the athlete will immediately ditch the harness, and begin a backwards pull with the Viking Ship (~40ft) up a hill. “What do you mean a backwards pull?” That means you’ll grab a handle attached to the boat, lean backwards and start pumping those quads! Fastest time wins, distance will be credited to those who do not finish.
  • Puke buckets may be provided, but bring your own just in case.
  • Everyone will use the same harness. Please do not pester me about using your own harness. I won’t budge. In 9 years, probably 14 plus contests, and countless training sessions with 110 pound ladies all the way up to 400+lb men, no one has ever “come out” of the harness in mid-pull. The only way to accomplish that would be to literally stop pulling and move backward to create slack while letting your arms hang down to the side and slumping your shoulders. If you do that, you didn’t want to win anyway.
  • Fastest time wins.
  • You may assign your own “rope handler” if you wish, if not, one will be provided for you

Max Mouser Block Over Bar    *eligible for WV state records*

  • Three attempts to make the biggest lift possible!
  • 30 sec to get the Block over a 44in bar. Block may start vertical or horizontal. Athlete starts with hands off.
  • Each athlete may lift or pass on any given weight. Once you miss a weight, you are “out” and will be credited with your highest successful attempt. The athlete is responsible for maintaining his/her position in the rotation; failure to do so may result in disqualification from the event.
  • In the event of a tie, the athlete that took fewer attempts to reach the weight will be credited with the higher placing. If that doesn’t work, we go to higher opener. If that doesn’t work, we got to higher second attempt. If that doesn’t work… well then you just tie and split points!
  • Elbow sleeves & knee sleeves (buckling mechanisms and straps must not be tightened), a single belt, and wrist wraps are legal. Belt buckle to back/side
  • If the Block has been loaded over the bar and time expires as the Block is falling, the lift will still count.
  • Blocks will increase in 10 or 20 pound increments (see chart). Classes using the Mini-Block will switch to the big block once they have maxed out the capacity of the Mini.

Husafell Carry Max Distance

  • You’ll have 20sec to get the stone into position, once you cross the start line, your run has begun
  • No drops, max distance. Furthest distance wins. 60sec time limit begins once the start line is crossed.
  • Hi-Temp Husafells will be used, loaded with chain and/or metal shot
  • Stones will start on the ground in the traditional style.
  • You will have a LIGHT option and a HEAVY option. You will choose which one you wish to attempt prior to beginning. Once you have chosen, you are committed to that choice, and cannot change your choice.
  • Any distance less than 10ft is considered a “zero” on either stone.
  • Any distance over 10ft with the heavier stone will beat any distance with the lighter stone. For example, if Susan carries the heavy stone 30ft, and Sally carries the light stone 250ft, Susan gets the higher placing points.
  • Things allowed – sleeves (buckling and fastening mechanisms may not be employed), tape, a single belt, wrist wraps
  • Things not allowed – sticky substances of any kind including but not limited to tacky towels, spray tacky, alien boogers, and whatever these crazy kids are gluing themselves to implements with. No knee wraps, no connector rings ala Stumpy Raines, and no rubberized clothing of any sort.

Growing Yoke

  • Athlete will have 60sec to complete as many “laps” as possible with the ever increasing yoke
  • Course will be 25ft
  • Once the front of the implement crosses the line, the athlete will set the yoke down and turn around to head off the other direction with it. However, during the transition, our staff will VERY quickly toss more weight on the yoke! Thus each lap is heavier than the last! ***see chart for weight and how much it goes up each time***
  • Split times will be taken as each lap is finished. Those who complete the same number of laps will be placed based on the faster time to do so.
  • Distance will NOT be measured. You will only get credit for fully completed laps.
  • Unlimited drops but please don’t hurt yourself.
  • Same equipment rules as everything else lol

Axle Clean and Press Away

  • 60sec time limit
  • Light, medium, and heavy options for each class EXCEPT Wonder Women – they have the massive tire axle!
  • Choose your axle, clean once, and press for reps. Most reps wins, heavier automatically beats lighter
  • Once you choose your axle, you are stuck with it til death do you part. No switching after you begin.

General Rules/Usual Mouser Stuff

  • In the event of a tie in the final standings, 1st place finishes will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, then 2nd place finishes will be the determinant, and so on. If a tie cannot be broken this way, athletes will compete head to head in a tie breaker.
  • Sportsmanship is expected and required. This is the greatest sport in the world, let’s keep it that way.
  • There will be a pre-event prayer. No one is expected to participate, so please do not feel obligated. All we ask is to be respectful of those that do or do not wish to participate.
  • This is a drug free contest. If you are juiced feel free to come cheer on your buddies but please do not bother to sign up. Don’t be surprised if I show up with a duffel bag full of testing kits!
  • If you have a question, please ask! I would rather take a minute to clarify something than to see someone have a poor showing due to a misunderstanding.
