Max Mouser Block Over Bar    *eligible for WV state records*

  • 30 sec to get the Block over a 44in bar. Block may start vertical or horizontal. Athlete starts with hands off.
  • Each athlete may lift or pass on any given weight. Once you miss a weight, you are “out” and will be credited with your highest successful attempt. The athlete is responsible for maintaining his/her position in the rotation; failure to do so may result in disqualification from the event.
  • In the event of a tie, the athlete that took fewer attempts to reach the weight will be credited with the higher placing.
  • Elbow sleeves & knee sleeves (buckling mechanisms and straps must not be tightened), a single belt, and wrist wraps are legal. Belt buckle to back/side
  • If the Block has been loaded over the bar and time expires as the Block is falling, the lift will still count.
  • Blocks will increase in 20 pound increments.
  • If we have a large number of competitors, we may limit you to 3 attempts

Fingal’s Fingers  *eligible for WV state records*

  • Athletes will have 75sec to flip the pole as many times as possible. Most flips wins.
  • Split times will be taken so that rep ties can be broken. Example: Jill does 3 flips and Jane does 3 as well, but Jill is faster. Jill wins.
  • Elbow sleeves & knee sleeves (without buckling mechanisms), a single belt, and wrist wraps are legal.

Combo Truck/Boat Pull

  • 75sec time limit to cover the course
  • In a nutshell, you’ll pull one thing in one fashion, then pull the other thing in another fashion
  • Athlete will begin with a harness-and-rope style truck pull. Once they finish that portion (~40ft), the athlete will immediately ditch the harness, and begin a backwards pull with the Viking Ship (~40ft). “What do you mean a backwards pull?” That means you’ll grab a handle attached to the boat, lean backwards and start pumping those quads! Fastest time wins, distance will be credited to those who do not finish.
  • Puke buckets may be provided, but bring your own just in case.
  • Everyone will use the same harness. Please do not pester me about using your own harness. I won’t budge. In 9 years, probably 14 plus contests, and countless training sessions with 110 pound ladies all the way up to 400+lb men, no one has ever “come out” of the harness in mid-pull. The only way to accomplish that would be to literally stop pulling and move backward to create slack while letting your arms hang down to the side and slumping your shoulders. If you do that, you didn’t want to win anyway.
  • Fastest time wins.
  • You may assign your own “rope handler” if you wish, if not, one will be provided for you

Max Yoke

  • 60sec per attempt, 30ft course
  • If you drop, your turn is finished.
  • 3 attempts, Wessels rule
  • Weight will go up in 40-50 pound jumps each round. There will be a chart to show you available increments
  • Heaviest run wins.
  • In the event of a tie, the faster time wins.
  • No credit will be given for an incomplete run.
  • You must give your next attempt to the score keeper immediately after your turn. Openers will be gathered during warm-ups

Log Lift Medley

  • 60sec, fastest time wins
  • 5 logs must be lifted overhead in order from lightest to heaviest
  • Split times will be taken on each log/lift to prevent ties
  • Dropping of a log will result in a “no lift” and possible disqualification from the event if deemed careless
  • Log must return to chest, then be returned to the ground with both hands on the handles
  • Athlete must wait for the referee to signal “GO!” before removing hands from log, and moving onto the next log. Referee will give “GO!” command when the current log has been properly set down under control and log is motionless
  • Athlete must wait for down command on each lift. To receive down command, log must be motionless overhead, with elbows, knees, and hips extended. Posture must be upright, and feet in a non-staggered stance within shoulder width.
  • One belt, sleeves, and wrist wraps are legal.
  • Logs will be a combination of many different brands, types, and sizes included but not limited to real wood logs, metal logs, 10″ logs, 12″ logs, etc. It will be a virtual Log-a-palooza. Log-stock. Log Tour 2019. Logamania. OK, I’m done now.

General Rules/Usual Mouser Stuff

  • In the event of a tie in the final standings, 1st place finishes will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, then 2nd place finishes will be the determinant, and so on. If a tie cannot be broken this way, athletes will compete head to head in a tie breaker.
  • Sportsmanship is expected and required. This is the greatest sport in the world, let’s keep it that way.
  • There will be a pre-event prayer. No one is expected to participate, so please do not feel obligated. All we ask is to be respectful of those that do or do not wish to participate.
  • This is a drug free contest. If you are juiced feel free to come cheer on your buddies but please do not bother to sign up. Don’t be surprised if I show up with a duffel bag full of testing kits!
  • If you have a question, please ask! I would rather take a minute to clarify something than to see someone have a poor showing due to a misunderstanding.
