A yoke must be carried 30ft across a line. The entire implement must cross the line. Once the yoke portion has been successfully completed, the competitor may then begin pulling axle deadlifts for reps. Most reps wins. If the yoke is not completed, distance will be credited. If no reps are completed on the deadlift, then the time in which the competitor completed the yoke will be credited. In the case of a tie, a fight to the death will occur. 30sec will be allotted for the yoke portion, and 60sec for the deadlift portion. Must wait for “down” signal on deadlifts to receive credit for a rep.
Shoes required, and please cover your shins so we’re not wasting time cleaning the bar.
1 rep max, Wessels Rule, last man standing, unlimited attempts. Weight will go up ~25lbs each round for men, and ~15lbs for women. Log must be pulled from the ground standing, then the lifter must negotiate him/herself onto the bench, and lay down on it. The log must be positioned (unassisted) on the torso in a fashion where the bottom of the log is not below the navel and the top is not beyond the chin. Once the lifter and the log are motionless, and the log is in contact with the lifter’s torso, the judge will give a “press” command. The log must be pressed to arms’ length. Upon completion, the judge will say “good lift” and the spotters will take the log. Don’t hit yourself in the face with it or I’ll laugh at you. 30sec per attempt.
No bench shirts… though it would be really interesting to see someone try this in a triple ply Inzer shirt. Someone please make a video (at your own risk).
75sec will be allotted to carry 2 kegs ~30ft and load them onto a platform set to 48in. After successfully loading the kegs, the competitor must push a loaded prowler ~30ft across the line, and then drag a loaded sled 30ft across the line. All implements must cross the line completely. If you puke, try not to slip and fall back in it.
75sec will be allotted. A series of atlas stones of increasing weight must be lifted and carried ~20ft and then placed over a 48in bar. Remember, these are fragile dragon eggs and are not to be dropped before reaching the bar. Dropping a stone ends your run, so be careful. Fastest time wins.
No tacky. No “stick um”. No shirts with friction patches on the chest. Lift it like a Viking or don’t lift it at all. Tape for skin protection is fine, as is grit, determination, guts, and strength.
This is a single arm overhead medley. You will have 75sec to lift 3 implements in order from the ground to overhead. The press portion must be performed with one arm. Each implement must be lifted successfully with each hand before moving on. Fastest time wins. If you do not finish you will be credited with the implements that you did complete. The implements will be a kettlebell, a giant dumbbell, and a full size barbell. Athlete must wait for a down signal to receive credit for a lift. Here’s to victory!
